A room with a view - Interlaken

Day 10 continued - Monday 4th May

Switzerland is absolutely beautiful. The views from the train as we approached Interlaken were stunning. All around were mountains, bright green grass, and a very blue lake. The rain had been left behind in Paris and was replaced by sunshine; I instantly fell in love with the place.

Day 11 - Tuesday 5th May

So far the trip had been pretty busy so we decided we'd relax a bit in Switzerland. We spent most of the day chilling in our room and went for a walk around the town. Me and Amy kept saying "can we stay here forever" but we settled for booking two extra nights.

Day 12 - Wednesday 6th May

Once we were up we went into town to find out about paragliding. We could see people paragliding in the mountains and it looked like so much fun and in such a beautiful setting as well! Unfortunately our travel insurance didn't cover us so we decided to give it a miss this time. However I'm sure I'll be back to Interlaken in the future so next time I'll make sure I'm covered!

We decided to try out the McDonalds (for research purposes of course) and found that it was expensive and didn't taste as nice. Then we had a good walk round the area and looked in some soveiner shops. Next we went to a patisserie for hot chocolate and cake. Somehow I managed to move my plate and throw my vanilla cake up into the air on the way to the table haha. Luckily it was still edible and it was very yummy.

In the evening we put our dressess on and went to an Italian restaurant.

Day 13 - Thuraday 7th May

We got the bus over to Thun (pronounced 'torn') and visited the castle there.

When we got back to Interlaken we brought some more cakes to use up our Swiss Franks (that was our excuse anyway). Then we booked up our accommodation for Berlin.

Day 14 - Friday 8th May

I really enjoyed my time in Interlaken and it was a bit sad to leave. The weather was great, the views were beautiful and the people were lovely.

We checked out of the hotel and caught our train to Berlin.
